Yoga Postures

Yoga teaches the art of living and making others live .There should be a balance in our life, the balance between everything that we are involved in our life, i.e. between our work and resting, between our happiness and unhappiness and of course the pressure we are externally and internally facing in our lives. Yoga brings this balance through its postures or asanas. These postures make us forget everything for a while and get involved in yoga.

Yoga and gymnastics are different

We can compare the movements in gymnastics and yoga. In gymnastics the movements are performed not very consciously but with a set pattern in mind while in yoga these postures are practiced peacefully and the next posture is performed after taking a little rest which not possible in gymnastics. You can practice gymnastics for body building only and not relaxing your entire body system as is done in yoga

Different postures give affects in yoga
The different asanas (postures) cures our body ‘various problems. Our body’ muscles, organs, blood circulation, our nervous system, glands and breathing etc. It reduces our tension on stretching the muscles, the longer it is stretched, the more it relaxes the muscles. It affects the whole body system and the different postures touches muscles differently in curing all kind of muscles relaxation. It becomes easy to perform difficult asanas after some time .

Simple yoga postures for all

Many poses in yoga which are practiced, but everyone may not be able to perform the difficult poses in yoga. Hence, there are some simple poses which everybody can easily practice even in their offices. A twisting is made by crossing one leg over the other and catching the upper thigh of your leg with opposite hand and doing the same posture with the other side. To relax your neck tension, touch your shoulder with your ear on both sides and gradually move your head up and down, side to side will provide comfort to the neck muscle. Place your ankle on the top of knee and bend your body over it, change the posture to do the same on the other side to relax spine. There are many such simple postures that can be practiced by those who are busy in their lives. [1]
